"I purchased this bag, having owned a similar Tripp Light Duffel for over 20 years that had done sterling service across the world. Sadly, this one doesn’t compare. It does the job. It’s spacious, and light enough. Just not as good as the previous iteration. The bag zips across the top. It was easier to pack when the zip went around three edges. It lacks sufficient internal & external pockets for electricals, documents & toiletries etc. Needs a greater colour range ~ too many bags on the carousel all look similar & the same colours, so difficult to pick out in a crowded area."

"We have quite a collection of Tripp clam shell suitcases (SUCH a shame they have stopped making those), but needed something to take all those heavy, bulky items that take up a disproportionate amount of space in a conventional case.
This has a solid base, an extending handle and two wheels; double ended zip, with holes in the zippers for a decent sized padlock - the description of the bag indicated that a padlock would be provided, it wasn't, but we use TSA approved locks anyway, so not a problem.
If needed, the bag would squish down into one half of a large Tripp suitcase, with room for clothes around it.
Fully packed, the bag weighed around 18kg on both our outward and return journeys, leaving it manageable for lifting on and off conveyor belts, in and out of cars etc.
Depending on your packing, the canvas type body of the bag means that it doesn't really 'stand up' independently - you would need to keep a hand on the extendable handle - but this is really designed to sit squarely on the ground.
We have been very pleased with the purchase, having an all hard shell collection of suitcases, it has afforded us some flexibility for bulky items, it is sturdy, stylish and easy to manoeuvre."

"They need 2 modifications -
1. An external handle is needed at the base. I sowed on my own, and it is much easier to load the bag into a small space.
2. The internal straps need to be easy to find and tighten. Suggest some clips inside the top of the bag, so that once filled, the contents can be tighened down.
The straps are very hard to find under the contents once filled.
They are an ideal size, and when empty, collapse and stow easily once at your destination."

"I haven't used my holdall as yet, however, if it lasts as long as the two I last bought many years ago I will be extremely happy. It is the same size as previous ones which hold plenty of items for a week or two's holiday (I'm not a light packer!)
